Our National Youth Board
The food system is rigged against us. Every day young people and children like us are targeted by junk food companies, flooding our world with junk food, then putting billions into marketing that gives unhealthy food the starring role manipulating us into buying food we don’t need and that doesn’t nourish us.
Bite Back was created to put a stop to that. The National Youth Board is a group of young people, aged between 14-18, from all over the UK — fighting for a world that prioritises our health. But we are more than that, we are friends, we are family, we are a movement — making waves throughout the UK.
We take the lead on impactful national campaigns, speaking directly to decision makers in Government, securing public support from thousands of people and appearing on national TV and radio. And we’ve made a big impact already! We’ve secured important wins from the Government on free school meals, junk food advertising legislation and school food standards and we are not nearly done yet.
We have big ambitions and are expanding our youth movement. With exciting goals in mind there’s never been a better time to join Bite Back than now. What are you waiting for?
Edward, 15, National Youth Board member since 2021
Join Our Youth Movement.
Are you interested to learn more about how the food system can be healthier and fairer for everyone? Keen to make new friends and build your leadership, communication, and professional skills as part of a national movement? Then we’re looking for you! We’re looking for young people across England to join our youth movement!
Young people like us are inundated with a flood of junk food advertising wherever we go, so it's no wonder it plays such a starring role in our minds. We’ve been fighting for years for restrictions on junk food advertising and thanks to everyone who’s got behind us, we’ve had huge success! It’s now been written into law that we will see an end to junk food advertising online, and on TV before 9pm.
Now, it’s up to us to ensure that the Prime Minister keeps his promise, and stops big business from manipulating us into spending money on unhealthy food through cheap ‘deals’.
Our goal is clear — we want it to be easy for all young people to eat heathily. And we’ve had some huge wins!
